‘Brenda’s Problem’ by Ray Cates (Adolphus)
Brenda’s mother had ‘an enhancement’, and at age eleven Brenda had thought, ‘It ‘s going to be a long hard path being flat chested all thru high school.’
Well other girls were blooming, budding and needing bigger bras and Brenda had ‘boy nipples’. In the 6th grade Edward Drake, the best boy had said in a summation statement about Brenda, “She has the best face, but no chest.”
Brenda heard that and was deflated for a month. She even quit the ‘exercises for Taunt Growth’ that she had done for a year and a half. She just gave up and did math problems. Math could be done.
The Christmas she turned 13 she got her father aside and told him, “Instead of the pony, I’ve always wanted, I need breast enhancement, two little baloons filled iwth salt water. Please dad! It’s all I want.”
He burst out lauging, couldn’t stop. After that she hated every ‘Ho,ho, ho.’
At 16 her appointment with Caounselor Annie was for not dressing out for gym. She was never happy with dressing out, she took the ‘F’s’. Her average was still good.
“Your the best in math Brenda, but Coach June fails you in P.E. for lack of participation, why?”
“Well I’m like a boy.”
“Your a beautiful young lady.”
“I wear falsies, haven’t ever had a period, and my between the legs place gets really hard when I see other girls in P.E.”
“You need to see a doctor Brenda!”
“I see the doctor, it is the doctor who never looks at me.”
“Just drop your pants Brenda and let’s have a look.
Oh good God!”
